Ancho Reyes Chile Ancho Liqueur 750ml
Ancho Reyes is based on a 1927 recipe from Puebla, a town in Mexico known for its ancho chiles, which are dried and smoked poblanos. The liqueur is a tasty addition to classic cocktails like the Margarita, Daiquiri or Paloma, or it can be used in original concoctions. A spicy, smoky Mexican liqueur made with chile ancho, which are dried poblano chiles. These little beauties are macerated in neutral cane spirit for half a year, then blended with a selection of other ingredients and allowed to rest a little longer for the flavoured to marry. Sure to make for a top cocktail ingredient.
Nose: Dark chocolate, coffee, biscuit, caramel and cinnamon with a distinct whiff of dried chili spice.
Palate: Caramel, tobacco leaf, chocolate and vanilla with strong cinnamon spice and assertive chilli heat. The spicy heat cuts through and balances syrupy sweetness.
Finish: Smoky caramel and tobacco leaf with lingering chilli heat. Overall: Unlike many other fiery liqueurs Ancho Reyes offers great complexity of flavour.
