This bourbon whiskey has been hand-selected from some of the oldest barrels in the warehouse. Each barrel rests years on end while Virginia’s moderate, but ever-changing climate extracts the complex flavors from the oak and mellows the whiskey.
John J Bowman Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey
As heroic pioneers, the Bowman family helped settle the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia as well as parts of Kentucky. This single barrel bourbon whiskey commemorates the spirit and bravery of American pioneer John J. Bowman. He first explored the American frontier in 1775 and presided over one of the earliest county courts in Kentucky. He was also appointed as the first military commander and governor of Kentucky County. He was the great-great-uncle of Abram Bowman, founder of Virginia’s A. Smith Bowman Distillery.
This bourbon whiskey has been hand-selected from some of the oldest barrels in the warehouse. Each barrel rests years on end while Virginia’s moderate, but ever-changing climate extracts the complex flavors from the oak and mellows the whiskey. When the time is right, these prime barrels are hand-bottled with care into a 100 proof single-barrel bourbon.
John J Bowman Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
A fragrant nose with hints of toffee and leather. The taste is smooth and well-rounded, with a touch of figs, almonds, and a long dry finish.
