Pikesville Straight Rye Whiskey declines to be overlooked. First delivered in Maryland in the 1890s, the brand, alongside whatever is left of the once-blasting Maryland Rye industry, was covered by disallowance. The brand reemerged after preclusion and turned into the last standing Maryland Rye, as whatever remains of the business’ generation had stopped. Presently created in Kentucky from additional aged barrels put away in prime distribution center areas, Heaven Hill keeps this noteworthy Maryland stamp bursting at the seams with this honor-winning six-year-old 110 proof offering.
Pikesville Straight Rye Whiskey
Pikesville was one of the many great ryes that were the bedrock of America’s original whiskey industry centralized in Maryland at the time in the late 19th century. Pikesville was the only brand from this historic period to survive and Heaven Hill has revived it once again bottling this special whiskey from extra matured hand-selected casks aged at least six years and bottled at a healthy 110 proof. The profile is bold and spicy with ample sweetness as well. Everything we’d expect from great rye.
Nose: Some dusty spice, a touch of Norwegian hand cream and cocoa at first with sweet licorice, Cura? ao, vanilla custard and cr? me caramel developing.
Palate: Fruity, then wonderfully spicy rye. Sweet liquorice again (specifically the coconutty/nougaty pink Liquorice Allsorts that have a black bit in the middle), plenty of oak, and then clove drops on the tail.
Finish: Vanilla with cinnamon and apricot Danish.
